Sarita Apel

Caterina Rago Dance Company

Sarita Apel was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She received her Bachelor of Dance in 2011 at Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy, where she performed works by Ederson Xavier, Pedro Gomez, Loic Perela, and others. In 2009 she was invited by Dansgroep Amsterdam to perform an Itzik Galili choreography at the New Island Festival in New York. She attended The Ailey School Scholarship Program as a recipient of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Scholarship of the Netherlands.  While at The Ailey School, she performed works by Norbert De La Cruz III, Marcus Willis, Matthew Rushing, Manuel Vignoulle, Sonia Dawkins, Loni Landon, Nia Love and Samantha Speis, as well as performing with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in the Ailey Spirit Gala at Lincoln Center. 

Sarita has been a member of Graham 2 and has danced with Norbert De La Cruz III, Teresa Fellion Dance (Bodystories), Buglisi Dance Theatre, Creative Time/Nick Cave, Omar Roman de Jesus, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company and the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.

Sarita is a member of the Caterina Rago Dance Company, ARIM Dance, Dardo Galletto Dance and Tango For All Dance Company. She and her Argentine Tango partner Andres Bravo have been performing together since 2018 and are the 2019 champions of ATUSA, the official U.S. National Argentine Tango competition.
