Marquet Lee

Marquet K. Lee began his dance training at John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School in Augusta, GA under the tutelage of Renee Toole and at Cutno Dance Center under Ferneasa Cutno and Thomas and Sarah Shoemaker. He trained at such institutions as The Augusta Ballet, LINES ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and The Ailey School where in correspondence with Fordham University, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors in Dance. Marquet has been awarded The Governor’s Honor Award in Dance (Georgia, 2005), The Ted Shawn Award (Georgia 2007), and The Ailey Artistic Merit Scholarship (NYC 2008). His diverse training enabled him to perform a myriad of eclectic works by various artist including Alvin Ailey, Jiri Kylian, Robert Battle, William Forsythe, Paul Taylor, and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano.  Marquet has worked professionally with Ailey II, The Lara Wilson Dance Project, The Francesca Harper Project, and Alexis Convento & Artist. Currently Marquet resides in Düsseldorf, Germany working as a Soloist with Ballett am Rhein under the direction of Martin Schälpfer.
