Kristin Osler

Yaa Samar! Dance Theater; Johannes Wieland, Kassel Staatstheater

Kristin Osler attended the Ailey/Fordham BFA in Dance Program with honors and a minor in Visual Art. She moved to Germany to dance with Johannes Wieland and the Staatstheater Kassel.  After returning to New York, she danced with The Metropolitan Opera, The Movement Party, Abigail Levine, and Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre, among others.

She currently works with Susan Marshall & Company and Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More. She served as a choreographic assistant to Susan Marshall both in New York City and at Princeton University.  In 2012, she assisted director and filmmaker, Mark DeChiazza, in the direction of the One-Act Opera Project at Princeton.  She has also performed with the Santa Fe Opera, Miro Dance Theatre and Eighth Blackbird Ensemble. Osler creates her own dance experiments that play with the intersections of performance, dance and visual art. Her work has been performed at Fleet Moves Dance Festival in Wellfleet, MA; the University of Virginia; Omi Arts Center in Ghent, NY; Dance & Desserts curated by Christopher K. Morgan at The Alden Theater in VA; as part of Women in Motion’s Rooftop performance Salon in 2012 and at Bushwick Open Studios 2013. She was an artist in residence at Omi International Arts Center in 2012.
