Kafi Pierre

Cirque du Soleil; "Fela!" (on Broadway)

Kafi Pierre was born in Toronto, Canada and is a graduate of the Claude Watson Arts Program (1997) and the Scholarship Program at The Ailey School (2000).  She was also a child actor, starring in the critically acclaimed Canadian children’s program “The Elephant Show” with Sharon, Lois, and Bram.  Kafi’s young career continued to flourish when she was cast in CTV’s “The Ramona Series” with Sarah Polley and “That Scattered Brain Booky” at Young People’s Theater. Her diverse talent has led her to work with some of the most notable directors and choreographers in the business such as; Franco Dragone (Le Reve, Las Vegas), Mia Michaels (SYTYCD), Jamie King (MJ Immortal Tour), Bill T. Jones (Spring Awakening ), Luam (Empire), Maija Garcia (CHIRAQ), and Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar). Kafi’s career in theater has spanned over 18 years.  Her theater credits include; “The Lion King”, “Bombay Dreams”, Cirque Du Soleil’s “Delirium” and “Dralion”, “America’s Got Talent” and “Fela! The Musical”.  Her film and television credits include; Good Morning America, CBC, Macy’s Day Parade, Sony Pictures, MTV, BET, Brain Power, Nickelodeon, ABC and NBC.

In 2015 she accepted the position of Artistic Coordinator for the “ The Han Show”  in Wuhan, China, where she worked alongside famed director Franco Dragone to restage and choreograph the world-class production. In 2016 she became the director and choreographer for the up and coming band RBW in Toronto. In 2017 she directed and choreographed for the Beaches Resort and Spa Entertainment division and also became the associate choreographer for critically acclaimed Paramount Theatre’s Jesus Christ Superstar in Chicago.
