Jaclyn Wheatley

Spectrum Dance Theater

Jaclyn Wheatley is originally from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and received her early dance training under the tutelage of Kathryn Long, Rachael Poirier, and Li Yaming.  Jaclyn has also studied with American Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, C.P.Y.B., Dance New York International (Paris, France), and Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago.  

Jaclyn ultimately graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in New York City with a major in Dance and a minor in Business Administration.   

Jaclyn is currently based in Seattle as a company member with Spectrum Dance Theater, which tours extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally.  Jaclyn has performed in many of Donald Byrd’s recent productions including LOVE, Carmina Burana, The Minstrel Show: Revisited, and the 5th Avenue Theater’s production of Carousel.  Other performances include the works of Alvin Ailey, Jennifer Archibald, Joshua Beamish, Ronald K. Brown, Francesca Harper, Dusan Tynek, New York City-based Arch Contemporary Ballet, and in the Closing Ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

As a member of the JUNTOS Collective, Jaclyn has travelled to Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua to participate in dance outreach initiatives.
