Gregory Manning, II (Indianapolis, IN) was originally born in Everett, WA and began his formal training at the age of 11 in the dance magnet program at Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). He trained throughout the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area at Shortridge Middle School, Broad Ripple High School Center for The Performing and Visual Arts, & Jordan College Academy of Dance at Butler University. He has performed with such companies as Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre/Productions, Ballet Chicago, Footworks Modern Company, Iibada Dance Company, Kenyettá Dance Company, Dance Kaleidoscope, The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indy, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Philadanco!, The Rockettes (Radio City Christmas Spectacular), Armitage GONE! Dance, and many others. He was also a Las Vegas showboy in the Vegas Spectacular Jubilee!. Mr. Manning is a recipient of the 2009 National NAACP ACT-SO 1st Place Gold Medal in Dance (NYC), the 1st Place Prelude Award (2009) in Dance (Indianapolis), and the 1st Place State Champion Winner (2009) & 2nd Place State Winner (2008) in the project eXcel Awards of Indiana. He was awarded the Top Overall Dance Magnet Student Award (2004-2005) at Shortridge M.S. & was one of two recipients for the Faculty Talent Award (2009) of Broad Ripple H.S. Mr. Manning is a 2012 graduate of The Ailey School's Certificate Program. While attending The Ailey School, he performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Mr. Ailey's ballet Memoria and in Revelations Cast of 50. He is on the dance faculty at the Broad Ripple Magnet Middle & High School for the Arts and Humanities and has recently joined the Rafiki National (North American) Tour of The Lion King.
