Courtney Tilford Uyar hails from Indianapolis, Indiana where she began her training in tap, ballet, theatre, and jazz. She received her BFA in modern dance from the University of Illinois in 2004 where she was awarded for her talent and growth as a performer/dance technician. Ms. Tilford began her professional career in the Midwest before moving to New York City in 2006. She has performed at Merce Cunningham Studios and New York City Center, among other NY venues. Her theatre credits include, SWING!, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Alice), Crazy for You, 42nd Street (Lorraine), The Producers, and West Side Story (Graziella). She has been a featured dancer in a national television commercial and has taught and choreographed for studios, colleges, and schools throughout the country. Her choreography ranges from concert dance works, to musical theatre, to award winning show choir sets. Courtney is also a certified fitness instructor and teaches adult classes in New York City.
