Carolyn Eaton

Ballet

Carolyn Eaton spent 18 years studying and teaching the British system of classical ballet in her native Australia. In 1972 she received additional training at Covent Garden, London. After coming to the United States in 1981 she undertook an intensive study of the Russian Vaganova system at the Hartford Ballet School. She implemented the Vaganova system into the Children’s Program at The Ballet Center, Charlottesville, Virginia, where she was Director of the school. Ms Eaton joined the Boston Ballet School in 1991 where she was Principal of the MetroWest studio for almost ten years. Since arriving in New York in 2003 she has taught at Marymount Manhattan College and is currently on faculty at The Ailey School.
