Alessandra Giambelli

Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® Trainer

Born and raised in Milan, Italy, Alessandra Giambelli is a movement specialist based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.  She studied at The Ailey in the Scholarship Program, at Alonzo King Lines Ballet in San Francisco, and Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts in Connecticut. She has worked with prestigious choreographers and artists such as Alonzo King, Nick Cave, Manuel Vignoulle, Maurya Kerr, Michele Oliva, Nathan Trice, Norbert De la Cruz III as mentors and collaborators.  Alessandra has been a faculty member at The Ailey School, guest teacher at Steps on Broadway, and at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis at American Ballet Theatre. She currently teaches at TanzRaum 151 in Frankfurt am Main and at the Frankfurt International School in Oberursel, Germany.

As a choreographer, Alessandra was invited to present her works in New York at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Performance Lab at Steps on Broadway, Green Space Blooms, The Dance Gallery Festival, IdaCo 2015 NY, The Current Sessions, and in Boston at The Boston Contemporary Dance Festival.

Alessandra was introduced to Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® in 2011 in San Francisco by Master Trainer Debra Rose and has studied with Master Trainer Erika Hassan, Dima Fedorov, Miriam Barbosa, Mariarosa Guglielmi, Emily Smith, Elena Spaziani, Uwe Herbstreit, Chantal Deeble, Martin Laemmerhirt.  In September 2016 Alessandra had the honor to learn directly from the founder and creator of The Gyrotonic Expansion System® Juliu Horvath in Munstertal, Germany.  She is currently a Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® trainer working at Gyrotonic Frankfurt Center in Frankfurt am Main and is a sports and wellness masseuse.
