Mitch Marcus

Biography

Mitch Marcus, a native New Yorker, is a composer, saxophonist and pianist. He received his BM in Jazz Studies from Indiana University in 1997. After graduating he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he lived for 11 years and led a number of groups including the award-winning Mitch Marcus Quintet and MMQ + 13 as well as accompanied dance for many Bay Area dance centers. Since returning to New York in 2009, Mr. Marcus continues to be a part of the dance scene playing for the Mark Morris Dance Group, The New School and The Ailey School.
