Michael Kingon

Pianist

Michael Kingon has played the piano professionally since his graduation from the Manhattan School of Music in 1989. In Sept 2009 he received “What a Wonderful World Award” from the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine. Michael has worked at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center in Tivoli, NY, the Joffrey Ballet School, the Julliard School, New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble, Barnard College and the 92nd Street Y. He has performed in revivals of “Guys and Dolls”, “1776”, “The Me Nobody Knows” and “The Fantastics.” He is a recipient of the New York City All City Music Award, The Otto Peccha Award from the American Institute of Musical Studies in Gratz, Austria where he studied opera repertories, and the Showmanship Award at the Luzerne Music Center, Lake Luzerne, NY. He has been an accompanist at The Ailey School for over 20 years.
