Frances Lai Baca originally from Berkeley, California has a BFA in Modern Dance Performance from the University of the Arts. Where she received the Elizabeth Ann Pulaski Scholarship and an award for Outstanding Performance in Modern Dance. After school Frances moved to New York where she has been living and performing in for the past eight years and has most recently presented her own choreography at the Ailey Citigroup Theater. To supplement her dance career Frances became a certified GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS® and Pilates trainer which has given her the privilege of working with members of the Rockettes, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Martha Graham Dance Company and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She has taught at Steps on Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam and now the Ailey School. Because of her two careers Frances was recently featured in a Dance Magazine® article Double Duty Dance Lives. In the fall Frances will be pursuing her MFA in Dance at New York University.
