Bill Apollo Brown

Bill Apollo Brown studied composition, theory, piano and trombone, and received a BA in Music from SUNY Empire State College in Manhattan. Bill was accepted into the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop. His symphonic jazz piece "Passacaglia" was performed at Merkin Hall by the BMI New York Jazz Orchestra in July of 2004. From 2004 to 2007, three of Bill's recent chamber works, "The Conjure Woman Speaks," "The Calling; the Light," and "Liana's Gypsy Dance," have had their premiere through PULSE concerts. Bill has been a faculty/musician member of The Ailey School since September of 1999. Mr. Brown was invited to join the faculty at The School at Jacob's Pillow as pianist for the jazz program for August of 2006.
