Auditions

Auditions for acceptance to the Professional Division (ages 16 to 25) and for the Junior Division (ages 7 to 17) are held at The Ailey School and in several cities throughout the U.S. and in Canada. The national audition tour starts in January.

Professional Division

Applicants for the Certificate Program, Independent Study Program, and Summer Intensive should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years prior training in ballet and modern dance in order to be a strong candidate for acceptance. Auditions consist of an abbreviated ballet class and an abbreviated modern class.
Auditions for dancers between the ages of 16 and 25

Junior Division

Experienced dancers may audition for acceptance to the Pre-Professional Program and/or the Summer Intensive Program. Creative movement classes for younger dancers between the ages of 3 and 6 are also available.
