
Professional Division Admissions
Candidates to the Professional Division must have a three year minimum consistent training and demonstrate advanced-beginner to intermediate level in ballet and modern. In addition, candidates must possess musicality and a toned, flexible, well-proportioned body.
Depending on the program, applicants may either audition in person or apply by mail. For both, proper School dress code must be followed. For more details please see:
The Ailey School is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. International Applicants to the Certificate, Independent Study and Summer Intensive Programs are permitted to apply by following the International Admissions guidelines.
Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program
Auditions for the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program are granted to select applicants based on the merit of the submitted BFA Dance Application.
BFA admission procedures
Certificate Program (ages 17-23)
Admission is by audition only, held in select cities around the country and three times annually at The Ailey School.

Independent Study Program (ages 16-25)
Admission is by audition OR by submission of the Application-Audition form, a DVD and two dance photographs.
Summer Intensive (ages 16-25)
Admission is by audition OR by submission of the Application-Audition form, a DVD and two dance photographs
Scholarship Program (ages 15-21)
Admission is by audition only. Scholarship students must re-audition annually to remain in the Program.
